A beautiful way to house your neighbors. This bird house was completely thrown on the potter's wheel in two separate sections (Lid and Base) and then high fire glazed in AVIOR'S (my) exclusive volcano blue glaze combination.

Made of only the highest quality clays and glazes to ensure a safe, strong home for our bird friends. Great attention is given to every detail: such as easy lift top lid cleaning, drain hole on the bottom, and an entry hole specifically sized for many smaller birds such as the wren. A perch is specifically left off to prevent any threat from larger predatory birds. The whole piece is firmly held together by heavy leather cording and wooden beads to ensure a strong secure hold.

The Rainbow Trout glaze combination brings together all shades of green, reflecting an array of dimensions within the color spectrum. The over-glaze pours across the forest green surface, portraying a lighter green metallic finish. A network of fine crackling can be seen on the top portion of this heavily glassed glaze, this occurrence is called crazing and only adds to the character and depth to the already intricate glaze. Also as you look closer you can see the crystal growth that also occurs with this glaze.

The piece pictured is a representation of my form in the style and glaze and is for reference only. It is not the exact piece you will be receiving. Each piece will vary slightly because they are individually thrown and fired.

If you would like a pic of the exact piece that we are going to ship you, please feel free to ask! ... in the note section, when you order. All my stoneware is food, dishwasher and microwave safe, so the birds will be just fine.

Dimensions: 7" Outside Wide/ 11" Tall (Physical Bird House)/ 20" Total from bottom up to top of cord.

All of my pieces are stamped/signed with my official potters mark. AVIOR Pottery by Michael Fillus-Sherman
